Christianity claims and beliefs are falsifiable and verifiable
i close this series of blogs with a final excerpt from johnston’s book, body of proof: a study on the resurrection of jesus:
“that jesus christ rose from the dead is an empirical claim. christianity is unique from other religions in that you can test the claims and beliefs because of - not in spite of - the evidence. the late non-christian philosopher of religion antony flew said, ‘the evidence for the resurrection is better than for claimed miracles in any other religion. it’s outstandingly different in quality and quantity.’
“it’s not hard to imagine why the early christian movement spread so rapidly around the mediterranean world. jesus’s disciples were passionate eyewitnesses to the abundant life and resurrected body he promised. peter and john said, ‘we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard’ (acts 4:20).”
so our ability to commune bidirectionally and directly with the holy spirit has been restored by the sin sacrifice of jesus christ and his resurrection. as he promised his disciples just prior to his crucifixion, he sent from the father the holy spirit to indwell those in repentance. in my writings i have endeavored to present with compelling evidence how, in part, this communion occurs between the immaterial mind of god, his holy spirit, the mind of man, created in the image of the mind of god, and the material synaptic networks of the human brain. minds in communion is a reality in our time.
