An enduring hope

“the hope we have because of the resurrection of jesus is an energizing hope that causes us to endure. resurrection hope is also subjective in that, while being led of the holy spirit, all believers share in an attitude of expectancy of present blessings from god in this life and the next.”

that the temple curtain tore in two from top to bottom at the moment of jesus’ death symbolizes the removal of the barrier between god and humanity that formed at the fall of man. this resulted in the spiritual death by which man in sin lost direct communion with the holy spirit. the indwelling was lost. (Matthew 27:51; Mark 15:38; luke 23:45) but the sin sacrifice of jesus restored the indwelling by the spirit, the direct access to god for all people in repentence, eliminating the need for a high priest to enter the holy of holies on their behalf. This direct dual interaction has been the focus of my research for a quarter of a century.
