Who is the Holy Spirit?

Olson begins chapter two identifying who the holy spirit is. “one thing that can definitely be said is that the holy spirit is not an ‘it’. the holy spirit is a person [italics added]. . . . is the holy spirit truly divine? scripture reveals to us that the holy spirit is god and it does so in abundance.”

“. . . when jesus was with his disciples at the last supper shortly before he went to the cross,” it is recorded in john 14:15-17 that he said, "“if you love me, keep my commandments. i will pray to the father, and he will give you another counselor, that he may be with you forever: the spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you [bold type added].”
