in my last blog posts i have posited a matching between wave forms generated by the immaterial cognitive mind and pyramidal column wave forms. eccles posited that columns act as “detectors” of waves having matching frequencies, amplitudes and shapes so that synchrony can be incorporated in the transmission of encoded action potentials along synaptic networks to effect action. exocytosis is triggered by the quantum tunneling of matched wave forms through components of pre-synaptic ion channels and synaptic vesicles with the release of neural transmitters that act on post-synaptic terminals. eccles and his associate friedrich beck did not identify this specific step that gives evidence for dualist interaction between the immaterial mind and the brain. it is posited that this interaction is initiated through pyramidal apical dendritic tufts in the neocortex, as discussed in a previous blog.
